  2. Thank you to the SBCC Journalism Department for starting this blog. I live in Chicago and find this medium (forum) useful.

  3. If anyone needs large animals evacuated from the fire, you can call the Equine Evac team. We will take them to Earl Warren where they can stay until the danger subsides. We appreciate if you can feed and clean their stalls yourselves, but if needed, we can do it for you. We also can keep chickens, pigs and other animals. Call me if you need anything and I can arrange to get you some help. Best of luck to all during this devastating time.

  4. I am praying that the fire fighters contain Jesusita Fire. It is a good idea to have the television or radio in these kinds of emergencies. I think that a person who is informed is better prepared during an emergency. KEYT channel is a good source of information. They provided information about the wind and weather forecast. Also, KPMR Univision has recommended to take precautions for people with respiratory problems, it is recommended to wear a mask when outdoors.

  6. I just got a phone call from the manager of "Blue Bee" in Santa Barbara. Her name is Christine Matson. They are giving away $100 gift certificates to each family of the 100 homes that were damaged and/or burned down in the Jesusita Fire. I wanted to let all the SBCC Staff, Faculty and Students know of this generous offer. If so, all they need to do is bring I.D. to the store (if they don't have it a utility bill would work too) and they get to pick anything in any of the stores for a total of $100 or less.

I hope that helps just a little. =)
